[big breath] hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
But seriously. Young America Foundation -I get it. Really I do. But please understand: there is a LIMITED amount of time and sources that can be covered in a given course. If you’re going to put people like Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter (who I get as a comedy act, but not as serious political commentary) into a Political Science syllabus, who do you kick out to make room for them? Locke? Burke? Friedman? Galbraith? Marx? Hayek? Jefferson? Seriously, who gets the boot because The Prince of Darkness or Dinesh D’Souza are better writers or have more to say? Seriously. It’s one thing to say that perhaps Political Science faculty need to incorporate more conservative thinking (Hayek, Oakeshott, even Andrew Sullivan’s new book – OK, I’ll give you those and more), but to suggest that the folks in the poster are the best modern Conservatism has to offer and should be on the reading lists in my courses…I can’t accept that as a serious proposition.
But this poster is a riot. It may make its way into my desktop rotation. Thanks, YAF!
